Soils and Mulches

There are many soils and mulches available to use for your garden or landscaping project, each with their own characteristics and suitability. The following list includes the more common materials used for commercial gardens, which we can professionally supply and install for you:

Premium Triple Mix: Premium triple mix is mainly used in gardens, flower beds and for top dressing lawns. As the name implies, it’s a mix of 3 things, peat loam, sand, and manure/compost. Triple mix is ideal for to improve poor soil conditions or in the maintenance of existing lawns and gardens.

Pine mulch: Pine mulch is a red/brown mulch that darkens over time to a chestnut color. It’s an all-natural pine bark mulch that’s great for moisture retention and weed control. Pine mulch gives off a fragrant pine scent.

It’s used frequently around trees and shrubs and is a heavier mulch, which keeps it in place. It’s recommended that that three inches be applied to prevent weed growth and Then topped up every one to two years.

Black Mulch: Like red mulch, black mulch is colored with an organic colorant and is made with wood fiber.

Red Mulch: Red mulch is popular because of the way it enhances green and colourful plants. It has a rich red color that should not fade for about two seasons. The color is double dyed using organic coloring.
